September Newsletter

Greetings from GhostHead HQ! We hope you all enjoyed your summer and are looking forward to some Fall events in the Valley and elsewhere. Here’s what’s happening this month and beyond at GhostHead.

THIS MONTH:

September 14: PHOMO50k Training Run

Starting at 6:00AM, GhostHead will host our second group run previewing the PhoMo50k course. We’ll meet at North Mountain Visitor Center and then head out on a 5.8 mile tour of the Shaw Butte section of the race. This is a no-drop, free event for all. 1st Phorm has generously donated hydration and nutrition products for all attendees to sample. So join us if you want to see some of the course or merely want to share some miles chomping on meat sticks in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve.

September 28: Trail Work Day

Need volunteer hours or just want to help maintain our trails in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve? Then join us for our third Trail Work Day on September 28, at 6:00AM. Once again, we will be working with the City of Phoenix and the Park Ranger Trail Alliance to rake, move rock and get the trails in tip-top shape for all the abuse it will surely see during the PhoMo50k. No experience is necessary. Bring gloves, water and sun protection.

Meet at the Ocotillo Trailhead at Piestewa Peak Park. Arrive 15 minutes early (5:45am) for a Safety Briefing and Waiver Signing.

UPCOMING:

PHOMO50K

Registration for PhoMo is closed, but you can still add your name to the Waitlist in the event more slots open up. In the meantime, checkout some of the PhoMo news that has crossed the wires.

August’s Open Forum

And a special thanks to Altra’s Jacky Hunt-Broersma for headlining our second Open Forum, as well as Sole Sports for all their support and generosity. We hope everyone who came out was inspired and swag-stuffed was we were.
